HISTORY
Rock Rapids city council created low-rent housing in September 1969. In 1979 - 1980, Rock Rapids Municipal Housing Agency built 36 dwelling units with two, three, and four bedrooms. Supplied with range, refrigerator, and storage space. Each unit is furnished with hook-ups for tenant supplied washer and dryer.

Rock Rapids Municipal Housing Agency strives to have a high-quality, comfortable rental units. The units will offer state-of-the-art living conditions in technology and a growing need for quality housing. Our company is dedicated to a hassle free-living environment in which our tenants can enjoy all of the benefits of safe, attractive, and inviting units. Our primary objective is to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction that is achievable. Tenant safety, happiness, and comfort are our main goals. We will maintain a competitive market price while working toward expanding the number of units and increasing total profits earned. Within the company, we will strive to work as a cohesive, harmonious unit focused on exemplifying our mission. Just as customer satisfaction is an intricate part of our success, so is employee satisfaction. That is why we believe that employee satisfaction will make the company a success and will be the key to their longevity.

The Rock Rapids Housing Agency is committed to excellence in our assistance of low to moderate income families with drug free, safe, decent, and affordable housing opportunities as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency and improve the quality of their lives. It is our intent to provided opportunities and promote economic independence for our residents. We will create and maintain partnerships with our clients and appropriate community agencies in order to accomplish this mission.
Rock Rapids is located in extreme northwest Iowa at the junction of Iowa Highway 9 and US Highway 75. Our 2,600 residents enjoy the benefits of small town living along with recreational opportunities for all ages: fishing, swimming, walking and biking trail, snowmobiling, baseball, soccer, softball and many more activities.
